As far as immediate impacts in the Hyundai A-League go, Glory’s Jamal Reiners has made quite a first impression.
You only need to look at his debut against champions Melbourne Victory in December.
The 17-year-old’s speed, energy and impressive dribbling skills were on full display in a quite brilliant performance.
Reiners sensational run and then cross to set up Diego Castro’s match-winning goal has easily been one of the highlights of Glory’s season so far.
And a perfect example of the potential the South African-born livewire has.
Reiners has chalked up nine appearances for Perth so far this season and at 17 is the youngest player in the competition at the moment.
He has been involved in 38 duels, won 14 fouls, had three successful dribbles and passes at an accuracy rate of more than 75 percent.
Pretty good stats for a teenager and its clear to see why he’s a contender in the NAB Young Footballer of the Year race.
