One to watch: Julia De Angelis

De Angelis has come through the ranks in Canberra, getting her shot in the Westfield W-League as a 17-year-old last season.

There’s a plenty of excitement surrounding this talented holding midfielder, with many tipping there could be a green and gold jersey for her in the future.

Impressing during her time as skipper at the ACT Academy of Sport (ACTAS) in the ACT Women’s Premier League, De Angelis earned a call-up to the United squad last season.

She has gone on to become a consistent member of the W-League side, a part of their championship winning squad last season.

De Angelis was rewarded for his exceptional rookie season by claiming United’s Rising Star award at the club’s presentation night.

And she’s continued that form into the start of this W-League campaign, meaning she will be right in the mix for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year race.

Just look at the stats. So far this season De Angelis has made 71 passes at an accuracy rate of 85.9 percent.

She has won 14 duels and an assist as well.

Keep your eye on the Canberra whiz kid!
