One to watch: Annabel Martin (Melbourne Victory)

Despite being the youngest member of Victory’s back-four, Martin was a standout defender during this Westfield W-League campaign.

It’s why at just 17 years of age, there’s a lot to like about her game and her undoubted potential.

In her debut Westfield W-League season, Martin played every minute of all 12 games for Victory.

She won 27 duels and 11 tackles and was often coming up with crucial plays to save her side from conceding a goal.

Annabel Martin.

It’s not hard to miss Martin getting around the pitch with her red locks, but her consistency and excellent attitude is the real feature of her game.

The hard-working defender has a bright future and is deservedly one to watch in the NAB Young Footballer of the Year race.
