Northern NSW spots determined
A huge weekend of football at Coffs Harbour-s Coffs International Stadium has revealed the two Northern NSW Football clubs who will compete in the Round of 32.
On Saturday it began with the remaining eight quarter finalists of the State Cup. By Sunday night, NPL clubs South Cardiff FC and Broadmeadow Magic were the ones still standing as the two finalists and subsequent entrants for the Westfield FFA Cup.
After needing a penalty shootout to get past Maitland FC in their State Cup Round 1 encounter before making their way through to the Quarter Finals, South Cardiff faced a tough test in the last eight up against 2013 State Cup winners Urunga FC.
South Cardiff managed to have their noses in front 2-1 at the break before going on with it after half time to record a 5-2 win.
Then the following day in the semi-final against Cooks Hill United, who had defeated Inverell Joeys in the quarters, South Cardiff came away 3-1 winners to book their place in the Westfield FFA Cup.
Meanwhile, Broadmeadow Magic toppled Lismore Workers 5-1 in their Quarter Final before piling on another five goals in their Semi Final victory over Boambee Bombers.
Broadmeadow displayed formidable form throughout their foray to the final two, amassing 24 goals from their five games to show, together with South Cardiff, that the representatives from Northern NSW Football will be more than a handful for whoever they go up against in Friday-s Round of 32 Draw.
