A stunning long-range chip from Craig Noone and Adrian Luna’s first goal were the highlights of Melbourne City’s pre-season friendly win over Bentleigh Greens on Tuesday night.
City ran out 3-0 winners over the Victorian NPL side at Kingston Heath, with the performance of their new signings the most pleasing aspect for coach Erick Mombaerts.
Especially the display from former Premier League winger Noone, who capped an eye-catching performance with the goal of the match on the stroke of half-time.

Noone drove at the Greens defence before spotting the keeper off his line and executing an audacious chip from distance to fire City into the lead.
After his scorching drive in the FFA Cup 2019 Round of 32 win over Campbelltown City last week, the ex-Cardiff and Bolton attacker appears to be settling nicely in Melbourne.

It took just four minutes of the second half for City to double their lead through the classy Luna.
Nathaniel Atkinson did a great job down the right, with the defender’s cross falling for the Uruguayan at close range and he drilled it home.

Mombaerts made a host of changes late on, including giving new keeper Tom Glover his first outing for the club.
But it was another substitute that round out the scoring with Ramy Najjarine played in by Luna’s defence-splitting pass to easily slide the ball past the keeper.
