UNBELIEVABLE STRIKE | Noah Botic scores from range against Newcastle Jets

In-form Western United striker Noah Botic has been named Shark Player of the Month for January after a month full of goals in the Isuzu UTE A-League.

Botic took out the award after a fan vote, eclipsing a strong field of contenders for the honour with a 35% share of the votes.

Wellington Phoenix keeper Alby Kelly-Heald came second in the vote ahead of Sydney FC star Joe Lolley and Adelaide United young gun Ethan Alagich who rounded out the top four.

Botic was nominated for the January award as one of the 10 highest-rated players on FotMob’s rating system.

The 10 players with the highest FotMob rating (from 0.0 to 10.0) across each voting period are selected as the monthly nominees for the Shark Player of the Month award; the January eligibility period included Rounds 11-15 of the Isuzu UTE A-League season, with games between December 31 and January 22 considered in the FotMob rating system.

Botic had the fifth-highest FotMob rating through the January eligibility period (7.77), behind Luke Brattan (7.90), Jed Drew (8.00), Lolley (8.28) and Kelly-Heald (8.31).
