The Newcastle Jets have confirmed the Club has not received any formal offer from Millwall FC for captain Ruben Zadkovich.
After completing his international commitments with the Socceroos at the EAFF East Asian Cup, Zadkovich was given a week off and permission to visit family in the United Kingdom.
While in the UK, Zadkovich accepted an invitation to visit Football League Championship side Millwall FC.
Following media reports on Monday, Jets CEO Robbie Middleby confirmed the Club has not received any formal offer for Zadkovich.
“Ruben was scheduled to have a week off following his commitments with the Socceroos,” Middleby said.
“He asked for the opportunity to take up Millwall-s offer of a visit during this time and we have accommodated that request.
“At this stage, we have not received any formal offer for Ruben and he remains a Newcastle Jets player.”
Zadkovich, who is under contract with the Jets until the end of the 2014/15 season, is scheduled to return to Newcastle this week.
“Ruben is our captain and a highly valued member of our squad and our preference is for him to stay at the Club for the remainder of his contract,” Middleby said.
“We-re looking forward to having him back in Newcastle for pre-season training this week.”
