Newcastle Jets have handed academy striker Jake Goodwin his first scholarship contract with the club.
The 19-year-old found the net 15 times in 25 games for the Youth Team, earning an opportunity with the A-League Men squad.
Goodwin first joined the Jets’ academy as an Under-9 player and remained until Under-11 level before returning to the club in 2022, when he joined the Under-15s.

The hometown product said he was grateful to sign his first contract with the club.
“I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to sign my first contract with the Club, especially having grown up with the club and progressing through its academy pathways.”
“Coming off the great season the Club had last year, it is exciting to be a part of the first team and to have the opportunity to play in the A-League and Asian Champions league.
“I’m looking forward to learning from the experienced players and coaching staff around me as I develop my game.”
Newcastle Jets General Manager of Football Nigel Boogaard said Goodwin had earned the opportunity through his performances and work on the training pitch.
