Adelaide United made it two wins from two to start their AFC Champions League Two campaign after coming from behind to defeat BG Pathum United 2-1 in Thailand.
The Reds got off to a disastrous start in the humidity of Bangkok, going behind after just two minutes when winger Patrik Gustavsson got in behind the Adelaide defence before crossing for Marin Jurina to convert from close range.
Despite that early setback Adelaide responded well as Craig Goodwin saw a deflected shot saved by the keeper before then drilling a low effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the box to make it 1-1 in the 10th minute.

In what was an even contest in the first half Adelaide stopper Joshua Smits pulled off a stunning save to deny Lucas Andersen from distance, tipping the Dane’s shot over the bar when it looked destined for the top corner.
The visitors withstood a barrage from the Thai side late in the first half to ensure it remained 1-1 at the break before Goodwin then forced Pathum keeper Saranon Anuin into a smart save, tipping the Socceroo’s powerful freekick away for a corner.
The match-winning moment arrived in the 77th minute as the ever-present Ethan Alagich chested the ball down inside the Pathum box before brilliantly turning his man and lashing the ball into the roof of the net to make it 2-1 to the Reds.

Airton Andrioli’s side comfortably saw out the final 15 minutes of the intense clash in Bangkok to ensure they made it two wins from two to top Group F.
Next up for the Reds in the ACL Two is a home clash against Singaporean side Lion City Sailors, who are now coached by A-Leagues Champion and former Central Coast Mariners boss Mark Jackson.
Before that game takes place though Adelaide will kick off the 2026/27 A-League Men campaign away to Sydney FC on Sunday, October 25.
