Newcastle Jets have signed United States international Taylor Smith for the upcoming Westfield W-League 2018/19 campaign.
Smith arrives following a strong season with National Women’s Soccer League outfit Washington Spirit, where she made 23 appearances.

Smith has made 10 appearances for the American national team and made her international debut against Australia in the 2017 Tournament of Nations.
Newcastle coach Craig Deans told the club’s official website the 24-year-old’s signature is a huge boost for the club ahead of the new season.
“Taylor is a fantastic signing for us, and we’re looking forward to seeing her live in action very shortly,” Deans said.
“She’s only 24 but has a wealth of experience from her time in the NWSL and with the United States national team.
“We were strong at the back last season, and I’m confident that Taylor can help take us to the next level this time around.”
