Newcastle Jets trial exciting attacking duo

Former Brisbane Roar FC livewire Kofi Danning and Melbourne City FC attacker Iain Ramsay are hopeful of winning a Hyundai A-League lifeline at Newcastle Jets.

The pair have begun a week-long trial at the Hunter club where they are hoping to impress new boss Scott Miller enough to win a contract.

The Jets still have eight spots left on their playing roster for the 2015/16 season.

“They’re [Danning and Ramsay] here for the week and we’re reviewing them,’’ Miller told the Newcastle Herald.

“They’re on a trial basis and we’re getting an understanding of where they’re at.

“I think at this point we need to be open in regards to trialists.”

Danning, who has played 40 A-League games at Brisbane and Sydney FC, was released by Roar at the end of last season.

Ramsay was also let go by City after the last campaign as part of a huge clean-out by coach John van ‘t Schip.

The pacy left-winger has played 128 A-League matches in stints at City, Adelaide United and Sydney FC, scoring 14 goals.
