Newcastle Jets confirm player departures

The Newcastle Jets have confirmed nine departures from their Isuzu Ute Men’s A-League squad at the expiration of their contracts.

Mark Natta, Kota Mizunuma, Clayton Taylor, Lachlan Bayliss, Ben Gibson, Noah James, Lucas Scicluna, Ben van Dorssen and Christian Bracco will depart the Club at the expiration of their A-League contract this season.

Natta joined in 2022 from Western Sydney Wanderers, making 97 appearances and scoring four goals.

Mizunuma arrived from Yokohama F. Marinos in 2025, contributing seven goals in 37 appearances.

Taylor, signed from Sydney FC in 2023, made 79 appearances and scored 24 goals, also earning a call-up to the Australia U23s.

Bayliss joined from Central Coast Mariners in 2023, making over 70 appearances and scoring six goals before earning his New Zealand senior debut against Finland.

Gibson arrived from APIA Leichhardt in 2024, scoring 11 goals in 53 appearances.

Academy products Noah James, Ben van Dorssen and Christian Bracco also depart.

James made eight A-League appearances after debuting in 2020. Van Dorssen captained the Youth Team to Football League One promotion in 2024 without making his senior debut. Bracco debuted in a 4-1 Australia Cup win over Western United. Lucas Scicluna, who joined in 2025, made 12 appearances after debuting in the Australia Cup win over Adelaide.

General Manager of Football Nigel Boogaard thanked all departing players: “Every player has made a significant contribution to the Newcastle Jets. I want to express my gratitude for their efforts and wish them every success in their careers.”
