Newcastle coach Deans welcomes re-signing of Jets leadership duo

Newcastle coach Craig Deans has tipped Cassidy Davis and Hannah Brewer for big things in the upcoming Westfield W-League 2018/19 season.

The experienced duo have both re-signed with the Jets for the new campaign and are set to play an integral part in Newcastle’s Westfield W-League assault.

“Cass and Hannah are still young but are among the most experienced players in our side, and they were key to our success last season,” Deans told Newcastle’s official website.

“They are capable, dependable players you can build a team around, they both started every single match last season and I’m looking forward to more of the same this year.

“Cass and Hannah are leaders on and off the pitch, I know I can rely on them each and every week to help push the side in the right direction.”

Last Westfield W-League season, Davis juggled her role with the Jets as Community Development Officer with player-coach duties at Warners Bay in the Northern NSW WPL.

She proved her mettle with another fantastic year that saw Warners Bay qualify for their second successive WPL Grand Final.

Meanwhile, Brewer took on a mentoring role in the off-season as an overage player with the Emerging Jets in the NPL NSW Women’s 1st grade, where she made 13 appearances.
