Lucas Neill has been ruled out of Sydney FC-s crunch game against Brisbane Roar on Thursday night.
Still battling a hamstring injury, which saw the Qantas Socceroos skipper substituted at half-time during the round 26 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers.
The injury means Neill has played just two and a half games since his high-profile move to the Sky Blues, making his debut against Melbourne Heart round 22.
Sydney will also be without Brett Emerton, suspended after his sending off against the Wanderers, while club captain terry McFlynn is set to return.
“Lucas is definitely out and obviously Brett (Emerton) as well and Terry McFlynn will be in the squad,” Sydney FC coach Frank Farina said.
The good news for Sydney FC fans is Neill is expected to be fit for the finals series should we make it.
“I think he’d be OK for next week,” Farina said.
