STORY OF THE SEASON
Kamau enjoyed a blistering start to the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 season, scoring both goals in the round one win over Brisbane and adding the winner when City beat their cross-town rivals Melbourne Victory a week later.
He played a massive part in his side’s perfect start to the campaign, playing every minute of the first four matches, all of which Melbourne City won.

While he’s had fewer chances in the latter part of the season, he’s the type of player who could be a potential match-winner in a sudden-death situation.

BY THE NUMBERS
Of the attackers in the Melbourne City squad, Kamau has the highest passing accuracy, finding a team-mate more consistently than the likes of Bruno Fornaroli, Tim Cahill or Ross McCormack.
Of the under-23 players to have scored three or more goals in the Hyundai A-League regular season, Kamau had the third best conversion rate, scoring three goals from 11 strikes (27.27%).
Kamau has also made more tackles than any other Melbourne City striker in 2017/18.
WHY HE SHOULD WIN
The first four weeks of the 2017/18 season undoubtedly belonged to Melbourne City as they forged a 100% record and Kamau was central to that success.
He scored the goals that won his side their first two games, allowing them to build the foundation for their best ever regular season.
