Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat believes his side could hardly have done more to claim three points in their wasteful 1-1 draw with Perth Glory on Friday night.
The hosts spurned an avalanche of opportunities at AAMI Park as Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Besart Berisha and substitute Jai Ingham all failed to capitalise on clear chances.

Muscat said it was tough to be critical of his team after dominating fifth-placed Perth.
“It was a night where we weren’t our sharpest in front of goal,” Muscat told Fox Sports.
“We hit the woodwork a few times and threw everything at them.
“All you can do in those situations is work to get those opportunities.”
Muscat sprung a couple of surprises during the contest including the introduction of midfielder Rashid Mahazi in a like-for-like swap with Oli Bozanic, while star attacker Marco Rojas was withdrawn in the 87th minute due to hamstring tightness.
Young winger Ingham was injected for a 15-minute cameo off the bench and went close on one occasion before fluffing a late opportunity in the area.
“Jai could have got a couple of goals as well, he only missed by inches and I suppose that sums up our night really,” Muscat said.
“It could have been three or four if we were clinical in front of goal, but we’ll keep plugging away because the performance is good.”
