Brisbane Roar Head Coach Mike Mulvey and Managing Director Sean Dobson both have bold long-term visions for the Hyundai A-League club.

Speaking at the Brisbane Roar Fan Forum last Tuesday night, Mulvey and Dobson predicted that continued on-field success will be the key to incremental growth in memberships and crowd numbers.

“If you want to be seen as a successful club, you have to be seen as being successful for at least five years,” Dobson said.

“We are about two years short of being seen as a perpetually successful club, and that-s where we will see growth.”

Dobson was asked about the club-s goal for attendance at home games.

“In two to three years, I think we-ll see us at around 20,000 – and that-s a key milestone,” he said.

“Once we-re at this number, we have that lower tier full and the atmosphere pumping.

“Everyone who was there for the Victory and Sydney FC games last year knows just how good that stadium can be.”

Mulvey also spoke passionately about the value of having an electric ‘Old Trafford-like- atmosphere at home games.

“I want to make that (Suncorp) a fortress. I want to win every single game at home,” Mulvey said.

The Head Coach thanked the fans for their continued support, and insisted they will be rewarded by an exciting style of football that is indicative of the ‘Brisbane Roar way-.

According to Mulvey, the idea of the Roar being a dominant force in Asian football is not out of the question.

“Why can-t we build a dynasty at Brisbane Roar?” he asked.

“Why can-t we be the best club in Australia and the best club in Asia? Because that-s my vision.”

Brisbane Roar will hold another Fan Forum before the start of the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season.
