Newly crowned championship-winning coach Mike Mulvey heads to Europe next week with three players in mind as a replacement for departing Brisbane Roar striker Besart Berisha.
A relaxed Mulvey fronted the media in Brisbane today after Sunday night-s epic 2-1 Hyundai A-League Grand Final win over Western Sydney Wanderers.
It was the final game for Berisha who signed off with a goal in his farewell appearance in front of the Orange Army.
But even after a big night of celebrations, Mulvey is already planning next season with replacing Berisha his number one priority.
“I-ve got a DVD package which shows them the lifestyle here,” he explained.
Mulvey said he wants to meet the players personally before any decision is made. And it-s a decision he won-t rush into.
“And I-ll explain to them that players like Alessandro Del Piero have said they found a bit of peace here. For him and his family.
“The players aren-t in Del Piero-s sphere but that kind of anonymity might be something you can sell.
“Thomas [Broich] for example was sold on the lifestyle here. He can stroll down the West End and do his jamming with his music and nobody knows who he is!”
Mulvey will use Broich as one of his selling points for this new striker, too.
“We won-t just take this Brazilian or that Eastern European,” he added.
“You-ve got to get the right person.”
Meanwhile Brisbane will honour its Roar heroes with a tickertape parade tomorrow (Tues) in the city.
The players will remain this week with the club for various medical checks and are set to return for pre-season training around June 23.
