Brisbane Roar have parted ways with midfielder George Mells.
The 23-year-old was yet to make an appearance for the Queensland club after signing from Dutch outfit Fortuna Sittard in 2019.
The Melbourne-native had played 31 A-League games for Adelaide United between 2015 and 2017 before making the move to Europe.
Mells spent time at Premier League outfits Chelsea and Southampton as a junior, and has been capped at under-17 and under-20 level for Australia.
Roar announced that the club and Mells mutually agreed to terminate the midfielder’s contract, effectively immediately.
“We would like to wish George all the best in his next chapter,” the club said in a statement.
