Highly-rated Kiwi’s Melbourne ‘homecoming’: ‘A player we have admired for a while’

Melbourne Victory have signed New Zealander Zoe McMeeken for the Ninja A-League 2025-26 season. 

McMeeken – a New Zealand age-group international – has already amassed 55 A-Leagues appearances by the age of 21 as she arrives at last season’s Grand Finalists after leaving Wellington Phoenix.

The 21-year-old full-back, who is capable of playing on either flank, primarily featured on the right last season – deployed in an attacking full-back role, having featured the Junior Football Ferns at two FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cups.

“Melbourne Victory has always been a team I’ve admired and respected, so I am thankful for the opportunity to join the club,” she said.

“Moving to Melbourne was a no-brainer for me once I heard of the opportunity. I was born in Melbourne, for me it’s a homecoming opportunity, I look forward to making the most of this move.”
