Melbourne Victory head coach Jeff Hopkins heaped praise on new signings Zoe McMeeken and Kennedy White following their red-hot start to life with the Ninja A-League giants.
American striker White made headlines following her blistering hat-trick in last week’s 4-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers, while full-back McMeeken contributed an assist and a goal as last season’s runners-up kick-started their 2025-26 campaign in Round 2.
Both players were named in Liberty’s Ninja A-League Team of the Week.

Heading into Saturday’s Grand Final rematch against Central Coast Mariners and with all eyes on White, Hopkins was quick to highlight the impact of New Zealand international McMeeken.
“It’s really pleasing. We don’t always get it right and I think it’s proving with both of them across the last couple of games, they’ve both had outstanding games,” the A-Leagues legend told reporters.
“Obviously Kenna’s grabbed the headlines with the goals but Zoe’s been very consistent with what she does.
“She’s actually showed a bit of what she is capable of doing. She gets forward a lot. She is almost unstoppable sometimes when she goes forward. She is physically very good and it’s good to see her getting on the scoresheet and getting an assis.t
“It will give her a lot of confidence which is good for the team.”

Of White, Hopkins added: “I’ve been very impressed with her.
“First of all her attitude to training, very professional. She looks after herself, her body and she trains really hard.
“I still think she has a lot more to show. In terms of us using her to the best of her ability. We still need to find out how to use her a bit better. We made some big steps forward last week.
“It’s really exciting and we’re expecting more of her too.”
