Melbourne City’s goal-scoring options boosted by resurgent Budzinski

Marcin Budzinski has been tagged as the forgotten marquee, but the Pole’s goal-scoring stats in recent weeks have boosted Melbourne City’s goal-scoring options as they make their finals charge.

Three of Melbourne City FC’s last six goals have come via the Pole Budzinski.

He scored twice in four minutes in Sunday’s 5-0 thrashing of Adelaide United and was on target in Central Coast last week.

Suddenly, City have Budzinski on fire and Vidosic complementing him up front. The pair worked well as “false nines” on Sunday and have sent a clear signal to the rest of the league, starting with the Jets on Thursday in what should be a classic.

Add goal-machine Ross McCormack into this mix and Warren Joyce’s side have a real cutting edge going into the final stages of the season.

Interestingly, Dario Vidosic has netted six goals this Hyundai A-League season; half of which have come against Adelaide United.
