As Melbourne City celebrated their 10th year anniversary against Central Coast Mariners on Friday night it was only fitting Curtis Good got the party started.
The 26-year-old Australian international is the only player in City’s squad who was around when the club from Bundoora were known as Melbourne Heart.
Good began his career in Melbourne and played for the club 25 times before joining Premier League club Newcastle United in July 2012.
Friday’s opening goal against the Mariners – a well-timed diving header at the near post – was his first goal on Australian soil since March 2012.
“It was pretty special,” the centre-back told FOX Sports post-match. “We’re wearing the same colours as well. It’s happy days.”
