Melbourne City star cited by MRP

The Match Review Panel (MRP) have handed down the following verdict following the weekend’s Round 27 Hyundai A-League action.

The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Alan Contini – convened on Monday to consider the following incidents from Round 27 of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season:

1. An incident involving Joseph Didulica (Goalkeeping Coach, Melbourne City FC) which arose during half-time at Melbourne City FC’s match against Adelaide United on Friday, 8 April 2016.

The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Didulica was expelled from the technical area by the referee.

The MRP determined that Didulica committed the offence of Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball).

The MRP has proposed a sanction of four (4) matches, being the Mandatory Match Suspension plus three (3) additional matches.

Under the Regulations, the Didulica may refer the matter to the Disciplinary Committee for hearing and determination of the sole question of sanction.

Didulica has until 12:00pm (AEST) Tuesday, 12 April 2016 to advise whether he wishes to do so.

Harry Novillo

2. An incident involving Harry Novillo (Melbourne City FC) during half-time at Melbourne City FC’s match against Adelaide United on Friday, 8 April 2016.

Novillo has been cited for the incident and a show cause notice has been issued (the Notice).

Novillo has until 12:00pm (AEST) Tuesday, 12 April 2016 to make submissions in response to the Notice.

The MRP will reconvene tomorrow afternoon to consider the Citation Incident and any submissions filed by the Novillo.
