The A-League Semi Final hosted by Melbourne City FC will be moved back 48 hours to Sunday 20 June.
Tickets will go on sale next Thursday (17 June) and City members will get the chance to buy tickets from 9am, with a 50% discount for up to two tickets, and the remainder will go on sale to the general public at noon.
City will play the lowest ranked qualifier from this weekend’s A-League 2021 Elimination Finals, in which Central Coast Mariners (3) play Macarthur FC (6) and Brisbane Roar FC (4) host Adelaide United (5). The other qualifier will play Sydney FC on Saturday 19 June.
“Moving Melbourne City’s Semi Final back 48 hours will hopefully mean more fans are able to attend the game, and we are grateful to the Victorian Government for working closely with us to try to ensure the Semi Final is played in Melbourne and with the maximum possible crowd,” said APL Commissioner Greg O’Rourke.
“As things stand, unless DHHS determine that the current restrictions should remain in place at that date, which effectively means we would need to play behind closed doors, our firm intention is to play the Semi Final at AAMI Park – and the A-League 2021 Grand Final too, should Melbourne City qualify.”
The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) will continue to work closely with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) over the next week to try to ensure City can host it’s A-League 2021 Semi Final in Melbourne, which has been moved from Friday June 18 to Sunday June 20 (kick off at 4.05pm), and the A-League 2021 Grand Final in the event Melbourne City FC get through.
