And City have pounced to secure the South African-born playmaker as cover for the injured Michael O’Halloran (hamstring).
Baccus played 74 matches in four seasons for the Wanderers.
“Michael O’Halloran has been training well so losing him to injury is unfortunate, but we’ve secured a quality replacement in Kearyn Baccus,” said City boss Warren Joyce.
“Kearyn will add quality and brings a wealth of experience to the squad, helping maintain the current tough competition for places.”
Baccus will start pre-season training with the club immediately in the hope of playing in the club’s season-opener against Melbourne Victory on Saturday, October 20.
“I’m excited to have a fresh opportunity at Melbourne City and will be doing all I can to support the team over these next few months,” said Baccus.
