Melbourne City have signed Australian defender Curtis Good on a one-year deal after a successful trial period with the club.
Good was tipped as one of Australia’s hottest prospects when he burst onto the Hyundai A-League scene with Melbourne Heart back in 2012.
The Melburnian was promptly signed by Premier League giants Newcastle United before enjoying loan spells with Bradford City (nine appearances) and Dundee United (five appearances) in the English Football League Two and Scottish Premiership respectively.

“I learnt a lot over in the UK but unfortunately my opportunities were curbed a little by the injury I picked up with the Socceroos,” Good told Melbourne City’s official website.
“I’m motivated to work hard in training and remind everybody what I can do.
“I’m looking forward to competing for my place and helping the side push for success this year. This is a club with big ambitions and has grown a lot since I was last here – we have to aim high this year.
“I’m also excited to get out in front of the fans again. They were so supportive in my time here before and helped give me the confidence I needed as a young player to continue to grow and improve.”
Back in Australia, Good is now working towards his first full season in a career upset by injury.
City coach Warren Joyce says he’ll be doing his best to ensure the 25-year-old returns to his full potential.
“Curtis is a quality defender who still has a lot of potential,” he said.
“He returned to Melbourne on a week-long trial and has shown the attitude and desire needed to rebuild his career after suffering an injury setback.
“With the support of our coaching staff and the rest of the players, Curtis has the chance to push and challenge for a place in the team and set himself back on the right track.”
