Adelaide United take on Central Coast Mariners in Matchweek 9, with both sides experiencing very different fortunes in the lead-in to the fixture at Coopers Stadium on Friday night.
The Reds are currently on a three-game losing streak. The worst of those three losses came in Matchweek 8 when Macarthur FC dealt Adelaide a 4-0 defeat, scoring all four goals in a 25-minute rampage in the second half to demoralise the struggling outfit.
Carl Veart’s side return to Coopers Stadium to host the surging Mariners, who continued to defy expectations with a third win on the bounce secured in their last outing against Wellington Phoenix.
The Mariners have earned six wins from eight games to start the 2020/21 campaign, proving their worth as one of the league’s most formidable sides as each Matchweek goes by, which will bring great concern to the Reds as Veart devises a plan to stop the competition’s in-form side in their tracks whilst reviving Adelaide’s 2020/21 campaign with a positive result.
