Brisbane Roar host Melbourne Victory at Dolphin Stadium on Saturday evening intent on surging past Central Coast Mariners to the top of the A-League table.
The Roar have nine points to their name after just four games, winning three and losing once.
Dylan Wenzel-Halls has been a revelation up top for Warren Moon’s side to date, scoring four goals and assisting two throughout the early stages of the 2020/21 campaign.
Victory, meanwhile, are second from the bottom after a stuttering start which has produced just one win from four games.
That win, however, came against high-flying Perth Glory in Matchweek 5. Jake Brimmer was at the double for the Victory on that occasion, shouldering the goalscoring load which so far has not been carried by Grant Brebner’s injury-struck attacking force.
Victory hosted Brisbane in Matchweek 2 and fell to a 3-1 defeat despite a positive start to the contest, opening the scoring through Callum McManaman. Wenzel-Halls dominated that particular fixture, putting on a second-half clinic to overrun the tiring Victory defence.
