Melbourne City return to action against Perth Glory on Sunday afternoon with the opportunity to notch back-to-back wins and keep up with the current A-League leaders.
The fixture at AAMI Park sees City resume battle after sitting out Matchweek 5; Perth on the other hand played two fixtures in the same time, losing twice to Victorian outfits Western United and Melbourne Victory.
Richard Garcia’s side play their third successive game in Melbourne against City, and the Glory boss hinted pre-game that club captain Diego Castro should “play a vital role” in the contest.
A win apiece and a scoreless draw last season meant the two sides couldn’t be split. In the first meeting of the season, however, Perth travelled to AAMI Park and comfortably beat City by three goals to nil, sparking a club record six-game winning streak.
