Sydney FC and Western United are both intent on returning to the winners circle as the two sides with one loss apiece in Matchweek 11 face off at Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on Wednesday night.
The final game of Matchweek 11 sees Sydney return to action after a 1-1 draw with Brisbane Roar, whilst United look to bounce back quickly from a 1-0 defeat to Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday evening.
Bobô got off the mark in his return to the Sky Blues to rescue a point for Steve Corica’s side against the Roar, and will be hoping to feast on the Green and Black in his first outing against the side in its second season of A-League existence.
A goal to Wanderers midfielder Jordon Mutch put an end to United’s two game winning streak on Sunday. Mark Rudan’s side sit ninth on the A-League table ahead of their trip to face the Champions on Wednesday, just one point behind the Sky Blues in eighth.
The home fixture comes at a key moment for Sydney, who will be eager to snap a four-game winless run to reboot their season. Eyeing a third consecutive A-League Championship, the Sky Blues need to click into gear to emerge from the bottom half of the table and keep in the Finals Series conversation.
