Matchweek 11 preview: Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets

Adelaide United will look to make it three A-League wins in a row when they host Newcastle Jets at Coopers Stadium on Friday night.

The Reds could leapfrog Western Sydney Wanderers and Brisbane Roar on the ladder and take third place to kickoff the weekend action should they beat the visiting Jets.

Adelaide have taken back to back 3-2 victories over Central Coast Mariners and the Wanderers respectively in their last two matches. They have been two highly entertaining affairs for the fans, but Adelaide boss Carl Veart will surely be impressing the importance of a solid home victory over the Jets.

Newcastle’s five-match unbeaten run came unstuck with a 2-0 reverse to Wellington Phoenix last Sunday, but Craig Deans’ side have shown more than enough quality throughout that run to give Adelaide reason to be cautious.
