Macarthur FC will be driven by multiple motivating factors to get a positive result over Sydney FC when the two sides meet at Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It’s the second time Macarthur and Sydney meet this season after the Sky Blues cruised to a 3-0 win in Matchweek 6. An early red card to Bulls captain Mark Milligan in that fixture severely hindered Macarthur’s ability to put up a genuine fight in the contest which ended in a routine victory for the Champions.
The Bulls went three games unbeaten after losing to the Sky Blues before suffering a heavy defeat in their most recent hit-out, losing 4-1 to Western United.
With a second fixture against the Sky Blues presenting itself on Sunday afternoon, Bulls boss Ante Milicic will be looking for a reaction out of his side in the aftermath of both the Matchweek 9 defeat to United, and the disappointing showing produced against Steve Corica’s side last time out.
The hosts will be without Luke Brattan for the local derby. The Sydney midfielder suffered a head knock in his side’s 3-2 loss to Melbourne City in Matchweek 9, a result which left Sydney trailing Macarthur by three points on the A-League table.
