Marquee man Lawrence signs two-year contract extension with club

Perth Glory has today confirmed that Wales international forward Tom Lawrence has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

The 32-year-old scored five goals in 13 appearances after joining Glory ahead of the 2025/26 A-League campaign and also contributed two assists.

Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis believes that securing Lawrence’s services for the next two seasons represents a major coup for the club.

“Tom has already shown that he is a match-winner and one of the very best players in the A-League,” he said.

“We were thrilled to sign a player of his calibre in the first place and the fact that he will now be with us for another two years is fantastic news for everyone associated with Perth Glory.

“Tom clearly believes that Glory is moving in the right direction as a club and wants to be part of the success that we are all striving for.

“I know our Members and fans will be extremely pleased that his time in purple is set to continue.”

Lawrence began his career at Manchester United before going on to make more than 400 appearances for a number of prominent UK clubs, including Leicester City, Rangers, Ipswich Town, Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Derby County, scoring 78 goals in the process.

At international level, meanwhile, after winning U17, U19 and U21 caps for Wales, he made his senior debut in 2015 and has accumulated a total of 23 appearances and three goals to date.

During his most recent spell with Rangers, he scored twice in the Europa League and was part of the squad which reached four Scottish FA Cup and League Cup Finals.

The versatile forward made his Glory debut in Round 3 against Melbourne Victory, scored his first ALM goal in Round 5 and claimed a stunning hat-trick in the Round 10 away win over Melbourne City en route to earning a share of the club’s Bobby Despotovski Golden Boot Award.

In his 13 appearances in purple, Lawrence created 25 chances, had 45 touches in the opposition box and hit the target with 13 of his 34 shots.
