FIVE in a row! Mariners boss caps off incredible debut season with fifth Coach of the Month award

Central Coast Mariners defeat Al-Ahed to claim AFC Cup crown | Match Highlights

The Isuzu UTE A-League fans have spoken: Central Coast Mariners head coach Mark Jackson is your Coach of the Month… again!

For the fifth month in a row, Jackson has claimed top honours after a fan vote, clinching the April award after doing the same from December to March.

Jackson, in his first season at the Mariners, is heading into his first Finals Series game on Friday night – a Semi-Final first leg against Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium – after a dream week for his side. The Mariners clinched the Isuzu UTE A-League Premiership on the 1st of May, before jetting off to Oman where they prevailed over Al-Ahed in the AFC Cup Final.

HUGE BLOW FOR SYDNEY: Star winger ruled out for rest of the season
PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Dream week for Mariners star who breaks Wellington’s 6-month streak!

The Coach of the Month award for April is another feather in the cap for a coach doing incredible things in Gosford this season.

Nominees for the monthly award are selected as part of the A-Leagues’ partnership with Football Coaches Australia. Eligible coaches are nominated monthly by the FCA panel, consisting of:

  • Catherine Cannuli
  • Sarah West
  • John Kosmina
  • Ian Greener
  • Gary Cole

Each member of the FCA panel votes for three coaches each month, granting three votes to their pick for Coach of the Month, two for their second-choice and one for their third choice.

The winner is then decided by a fan vote, which Jackson won by a landslide to take out the April award.
