Marinkovic extends Glory stay

League-leaders Perth Glory have continued to shore up their playing squad with the re-signing of in-form midfielder Nebo Marinkovic for a further two seasons.

The 28-year old Serbian has scored eight goals this season in the Westfield FFA Cup and Hyundai A-League competitions.

“I love Perth. It’s an amazing place for me and my family and I have been very happy since the day we arrived. I want to do my bit to help Perth Glory win its first A-League championship. For me that is the top priority,” Marinkovic said.

Marinkovic, who has represented Serbia at youth level, has played in Spain, Greece, Israel and Sweden before joining the Glory in January 2014.

“Scoring goals is a great feeling and it’s always good to see the fans celebrate with you when you’ve put the ball into the back of the net. They are an important part of the club and I’ll be doing my bit to keep them happy over the next few seasons,” Marinkovic added.

Marinkovic’s signature comes after crowd favourite Scott Jamieson signed on with Glory for another two years with the option of a third last month. Glory has also brought exciting German Dragan Paljic to replace injured winger Youssouf Hersi.
