Hyundai A-League defender Jake McGing will swap the Central Coast Mariners for central Poland after signing for Ekstraklasa side Wisła Płock today.
The 24-year-old has jumped at the chance to continue his footballing journey in Europe and will join the top tier Polish outfit with immediate effect.
It closes a special chapter for the Mariners academy product, who played 82 Hyundai A-League appearances for the Gosford club.
“I’m really excited,” McGing told the Mariners’ official website.
“As a young footballer growing up, everyone wants to test themselves in Europe and when this opportunity arose I was very happy to take it.
“The Mariners are my first professional team and I’ve been here for four years now, it’s a place I hold close to my heart and I want to thank everyone at the Mariners for how they’ve welcomed me since I arrived.

“The fans, the coaching staff, the backroom staff – they’ve all been so supportive during my time here and I will be forever grateful for that.
“I want to wish the boys the best of luck for the rest of the season. They are good enough to finish the season strong and hopefully a few results can go our way.”
Born in Sydney, McGing made his Mariners debut in 2015 in an FFA Cup match against Wellington Phoenix.
He scored four goals in total throughout his time with the Navy and Yellow.
