Goals to two of Central Coast Mariners impressive new imports has guided the club to a 2-0 pre-season win over Melbourne Victory on Wednesday afternoon.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
►Spanish striker Asdrubal and Dutchman Wout Brama were on the scoresheet in the behind-closed-doors friendly at AAMI Park
►It was an even first-half with both sides creating good goal-scoring chances, before Asdrubal struck just before the break.
►Despite a few substitutions by both sides, they continued to press for goals, with the Mariners taking their opportunity 12 minutes from the end through Brama.
GOALS
40’ ASDRUBAL GOAL (1-0): What a goal to take the lead. Antony Golec slotted a superb through-ball to Asdrubal who acted quickly on the attack. Asdrubal saw his opportunity with Lawrence Thomas off his line and shot from distance to bag his second pre-season goal for the visitors.
78’ BRAMA GOAL (2-0): After some crafty play at the top of the box, the ball was crossed into the area by Hiariej which found the head of Brama. Brama leapt above the pack and headed into the top corner.
