Macarthur FC star Daniel Arzani will miss the remainder of the Isuzu UTE A-League season due to an ankle injury.
There were concerns over Arzani after the fringe Socceroo posted an image of his right foot in a moonboot on his Instagram story on Monday.
And Macarthur’s worst fears were confirmed on Wednesday, with the 24-year-old suffering a surgical grade syndesmosis injury during a friendly match over the weekend.

“The club wishes Arzani a quick recovery and looks forward to his return for the start of the 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League season,” the club said in a statement.
Arzani returned to Australia at the start of the season – the eight-time Socceroo back in the A-Leagues for the first time since 2018.
Lured home by Manchester United legend and former Bulls head coach Dwight Yorke, he won the Australia Cup with Macarthur in October.
In 19 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances in 2022-23 – 12 of those starts, Arzani scored one goal and supplied five assists.
