Melbourne City forward Lourdes Bosch has received a two-game ban for a red card offence in the first half of her side’s second-leg Semi-Final clash with Central Coast Mariners on Sunday afternoon.
Bosch was sent off in the 25th minute of the Semi-Final at ctrl:cyber Pitch after an incident involving Central Coast Mariners attacker Brooke Nunn.
Contesting possession on the sideline, Nunn attempted to wrestle the ball from Bosch on the ground in a bid to restart play with a throw-in however the City winger took exemption to Nunn’s tactic and lashed out at her counterpart, swiping at her face which then saw her receive her marching orders.
Football Australia’s independent Match Review Panel (MRP) convened to consider the incident on Monday afternoon; the MRP, consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Rhali Dobson, concluded Bosch had committed the offence of: Assault on a player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball) or against any other person other than a Match Official, including an attempt to assault.

City lost the return leg of the Semi-Final 1-0, as the Mariners progressed to the Grand Final with a 3-2 aggregate win over City across the two-legged tie.
