Juventus beat Livorno 2-0 on Monday night thanks to a first-half brace from Fernando Llorente that restored their lead over Roma at the top of the Serie A table to eight points with just six games remaining, reports Goal.com.
Defender Giorgio Chiellini is proud of the way the Bianconeri bounced back from last week’s 2-0 defeat to Napoli and he feels his side are getting ever closer to clinching the title again.
“We have been sending messages to the rest of the league for a long time, as we are extraordinarily consistent,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“A single slip-up was physiologically likely, but we reacted well to that.
“We put in a good performance, there-s still a way to go yet, but the finish line is getting closer and closer.
“We are ready to go all the way both in Serie A and Europe. We-re getting closer to the finish line and that fires us up.”
The Old Lady will carry on a 1-0 lead into the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final when they host Lyon this Thursday.
