Liverpool to take part in open training sessions

Liverpool fans will have two extra opportunities to see the Reds in action on their tour of Australia with the club to host an open pre-match training session ahead of their clashes against Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United.

Brendan Rogers’ squad will be put through their paces on the eve of both matches – Thursday 16 July at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane and Sunday 19 July at Coopers Stadium in Adelaide.

Tickets for the events are just $20 for adults and $10 for children from Ticketek, with proceeds raised to be donated to local charities, including the Royal Society for the Blind, The Smith Family, The Reagan Milstein Foundation, CanTeen and The Big Issue.

With both matches close to a sell-out (some packaged and hospitality tickets are still available), this may be your best chance to see the likes of Henderson, Lallana and Coutinho up close.

The LFC touring party will also include coaching staff from the club’s charity, the Liverpool FC Foundation, who will partner key players in various public appearances as well as taking part in events with official LFC supporters’ clubs.

The news comes on the back of confirmation Liverpool have signed Brazilian attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim.

The 23-year-old still has to undergo a medical but is set to sign “a long-term contract” with the club following his participation in the Copa America.

While Liverpool have not yet revealed if their new major signing will make the trip to Australia it seems more than likely off-season additions James Milner and Danny Ings will feature prominently for the first time in a Reds jersey.
