Perth Glory’s mixed fortunes of late have resulted in Alex Epakis’ side dropping out of the hunt for top spot – but that can all change on Saturday night as the West Australian outfit host Brisbane Roar at Macedonia Park.

Glory are second, five points behind Melbourne City, and will hope the leaders drop points against Wellington earlier on Saturday to allow them to close the gap at the top of the table.

Brisbane are boosted by the reversal of Holly McQueen’s suspension; the defender was sent off in her side’s loss to Newcastle Jets in Unite Round but Football Australia’s Independent Match Review Panel reversed the decision on Tuesday evening.

Sunday, 6pm AEDT: Sydney FC v Newcastle Jets

The Sky Blues are in need of a quick response after a 2-1 loss to Central Coast Mariners in midweek – a result that stopped the reigning Champions from climbing into second on the table.

Sydney sit two points behind Glory in second and wasted an opportunity to make up ground in the Premiership hunt in a chaotic defeat to the Mariners; now comes a test against the high-flying Jets, relishing a seven-game run which has produced four wins, one draw and just two defeats.

Assistant coach Ryan Campbell has taken control as interim head coach after Gary van Egmond’s midweek departure from his role at the club.
