The teams are in ahead of Wednesday’s Liberty A-League double-header, with Matildas star Chloe Logarzo returning from a one-game absence to push for minutes in Western United’s top-of-the-table clash with Sydney FC.
Western host the Sky Blues at City Vista Recreation Reserve (kick-off 5.00pm AEDT), with the two sides locked on 18 points apiece heading into the midweek fixture. Western have a game in hand on Sydney, and have won all six of their games this season leading into the titanic matchup. The Sky Blues, meanwhile, are on a six-game winning streak of their own after losing to Adelaide United in Round 1.
Then, attention will turn to ServiceFM Stadium, where the Reds host Melbourne City at 7.00pm (AEDT). Adelaide – a favourite for finals in pre-season – dropped out of the top four into fifth spot after successive losses to Newcastle Jets and Canberra United. They take on a City side stunned in Round 9 by the winless Western Sydney Wanderers.
