Head coach: Ante Juric
Stadium: Cromer Park
2021-22 position: 1st (Grand Final)
Sydney FC led the way again during the regular season, the star-studded Sky Blues only losing once before being upstaged by Melbourne Victory in the A-League Women decider.
Prospects: Having made finals in all 14 seasons since 2008, a bit of squad turnover and regeneration may test Sydney FC if not necessarily threaten their perpetual spot in the top four. Sydney’s forward depth does get younger and less experienced without Cote Rojas, Paige Satchell and prolific scorer Remy Siemsen, but with active Matilda Cortnee Vine and fringe international Princess Ibini still on the books, don’t expect a drop-off in scoring power. The defence adding Young Matilda Kirsty Fenton and established Perth Glory standout Deborah-Anne De La Harpe should continue to protect goalkeeper Jada Whyman, who broke both the clean sheet and minutes-without-conceding records last season.
