He opened his Hyundai A-League account in a match-winning performance in Round 5 and now a key Opta stat has revealed Adelaide United’s Ken Ilso as a valuable sharpshooter.
The experienced Danish recruit has certainly made the most of his limited opportunities this season.
All three of his shots have been on target and only one has failed to find the back of the net.

Ilso’s shot conversion rate of 67 per cent puts him above all his peers, with Keisuke Honda (50 per cent) and Alex Brosque (40 per cent) rounding out the top three.
Brosque’s Sydney FC team-mate Adam Le Fondre – scorer of five goals this term – has attempted 13 shots in total (excluding blocks), hitting 70 per cent on target.
Honda seeks to hurt Wanderers
With the top three teams facing the bottom three in Round 6, there may well be a wide discrepancy in the accuracy of shooting.
Honda’s class is seriously starting to shine through, the Japanese star having been on target with all six of his shots.
HONDA: The legend that inspired Victory’s marquee man
BABBEL: Wanderers can pose problems for ‘top team’ Victory
His in-form Victory outfit are set to host Western Sydney Wanderers, who were wasteful in last weekend’s loss to Newcastle Jets and have consistently been hampered by difficulties in front of goal.
Incredibly, the Wanderers have hit the woodwork seven times so far this campaign, while no other side has done so more than three times.
Oriol Riera is the only Western Sydney player to have notched multiple goals; his three are equal to Honda’s return.
However, Victory’s marquee man boasts a conversion rate three times better than all Wanderers players bar Alexander Baumjohann.
If Markus Babbel’s men are to put a stop to Melbourne’s three-game winning streak, they may just need their shooting boots on.
