Tune in to ABC1 each Sunday at 3pm nationally for LIVE Westfield W-League action, this week featuring Melbourne Victory tackling leaders Perth Glory in a potentially epic match-up.
The Glory make their ABC TV debut for the season on the back of their first defeat of the campaign last weekend, though still boasting a healthy lead at the summit.
The West Australians have arguably been the most dynamic team in the Westfield W-League this season, certainly they are comfortably the highest scorers.
Coach Jamie Harnwell will welcome back the midfield guile of Collette McCallum and, he hopes, the free-running Sam Kerr in the forward line.
Even without that duo, the Glory have enough firepower to challenge one of the best defences in the competition. The Glory attack confronting the Victory defence will certainly be one of the intriguing sub-plots of this contest.
The Victory had been in imperious form of later going five matches undefeated only to slip to a costly 1-0 loss at home last Saturday.
The Melburnians though remain an impressive unit, and they will enjoy the return to Lakeside Stadium where they won last year’s grand final on a historic day in Middle Park.
This season’s ABC’s Sunday afternoon broadcast games will again be hosted by Stephanie Brantz, with former Westfield Matildas and W-League star Sarah Walsh joining Peter Wilkins in commentary.
Catch all the action Live nationally at 3.00pm Sunday on ABC1, or catch up from Monday on ABC iView with a full replay each Tuesday at 3.30am.
