Adelaide United attacker Ryan Kitto says embracing Marco Kurz’s positive outlook on football has been the essential ingredient behind his breakout season in the Hyundai A-League.
Kitto scored his fifth of the campaign to give the Reds a hard-earned 1-0 win over Central Coast Mariners on Boxing Day.
As well as instilling confidence and a sense of work ethic, the winger revealed coach Kurz’s big message was about appreciating the game on a day-to-day basis.
“I’m really enjoying it here in Adelaide under Marco,” Kitto told Fox Sports.
“We’ve got a fantastic team and we go and enjoy football every day. We play it because we love it.
“It’s nice to be scoring and winning today.”
Kitto’s first half strike came courtesy of a smart low cross from Ryan Strain, who had combined with Nikola Mileusnic to unsettle the Mariners defence.
The trio are part of an impressive crop of youngsters at Adelaide who are earning the approval of captain Isaias.
“They are very important for us. They are good boys and they are working hard,” the Reds skipper said.
“They are helping us a lot. We are lucky to have them.”
