Kit launch: Roar reveal new home kit

Brisbane Roar FC have unveiled the new Umbro home kit they’ll be wearing at Suncorp Stadium for the 2016/17 Hyundai A-League season.

Our Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League teams will all wear the new threads for home matches.

Brisbane Roar is extremely proud to continue our front-of-shirt platinum partnership with Steadfast for the Hyundai A-League.

Brisbane Airport also continues their support of our Westfield W-League as front-of-shirt partner, with Steadfast featuring on the back-of-shirt for our women’s side.

Tonight’s FFA Cup match will be the first time the team will play in the new kit, there will also be a display in the Roar Marquee for fans to get up close and take a look before it goes on sale.

Much more than just a new look, discover some of the unique features:

Umbro worked closely with the players and club this year to customise the jerseys.

Roar’s Jamie Maclaren (above) felt the new Orange kit brings special memories with it.

“For me as soon as I put on this new Orange jersey it brought back great memories of our club being successful on home soil,” said our #9 Maclaren.

Stadium Sleeves – subtly embossed in to the sleeve of the jersey is the pattern created by the seats inside Suncorp Stadium. This unique detail pays homage to our home ground.

Orange Sunday – To this day, Brisbane Roar holds the record for loudest crowd cheer at Suncorp Stadium. In the 2011 Hyundai A-League Grand Final as extra time drew to a close and with only seconds to spare, Brisbane Roar completed one of the great sporting comebacks with THAT HEADER by Erik Paartalu.

Below the neckline and above each players name is the sound wave from that record-breaking moment.

Home Coordinates  – On the inside of the jersey below the Umbro logo sits another reminder of Suncorp Stadium, the home ground that has become a fortress and the venue of great on-field success over the years. In addition to the Suncorp seat pattern, you’ll find the latitude and longitude coordinates of our home.

The Technology – This new Brisbane Roar kit is the most unique jersey Umbro has brought to the market. An engineered mesh panel has been inserted into back of the jersy to ensure there is plenty of ventilation for the Roar players. This jersey will be a comfortable and competitive garment for all of our players.

Roar Goalkeeper Jamie Young (below) agreed with the comfort and feel of the new kit.

“The new kit definitely has a comfortable feel to it,” said Young

“The pattern and design are very interesting.

“We’re all proud to represent this prestigious club and I look forward to wearing the new Roar jersey in the upcoming season.”
