Sydney FC have announced their first 16 players contracted ahead of the 2022-23 Liberty A-League season, with familiar faces and new signings joining forces to form part of the Sky Blues’ silverware push.
Head coach Ante Juric will lead the team for the sixth-consecutive season. He’s retained the services of key premiership contributors from 2021-22, and says the club is “in talks with a number of others to return” ahead of the new campaign.
Premiership captain Natalie Tobin headlines the list of returning players, along with Princess Ibini, Mackenzie Hawkesby, Rachel Lowe, Charlotte Mclean, Charlize Rule, Sarah Hunter, Katie Offer, Mary Stanic-Floody and Shay Hollman, with the latter two promoted from scholarship to full-time contracts.
Young Matildas trio Abbey Lemon, Kirsty Fenton and Jynaya Dos Santos join the club along with Perth Glory full-back Deborah Anne De La Harpe.

Indiana Dos Santos and Anika Stajcic – daughter of Alen Stajcic – are new additions to the club having signed scholarship contracts.
The club is expected to make further signing announcements prior to the season’s commencement. Head coach Juric said: “I’m delighted with the players we have signed so far and we’ll be adding some more quality in the coming weeks which I believe will give us a great chance at silverware again.
“We’ve managed to keep the core of our successful team from the past two seasons and are in talks with a number of others to return.
“The new players are fantastic additions and will bring more youth and exuberance to our play which I’m excited to see.”
